Calm, clear, and fast when it matters
Epilepsy Buddy is an Android app that keeps your child's medicines, seizures and action plan in one place, shared between both parents' phones.
In testing with our first family. Not yet on Google Play.
Everything in one place, on both parents' phones
Made by a parent of a child with epilepsy, for the moments that matter and the appointments in between.
Medicine reminders on both phones
Each medicine is set up as prescribed. Both parents get the reminder, and once one of you records the dose, the other phone stops asking. Missed and late doses are easy to spot.
A one-tap seizure timer
Start timing in one tap, even with no signal. At the minute in your care plan it prompts you about rescue medicine, in your own words, and you can film for the doctor.
History for doctor visits
How often, how long, and what changed, with dose changes marked on the chart. Make a summary for the next appointment in a few taps. Facts only, never predictions.
Side effects and possible triggers
Note side effects against the medicine they might be linked to, and tick possible triggers like a missed dose, poor sleep or illness, so patterns are easier to talk through.
A seizure action plan you can share
Write your child’s plan from a simple template and share it with school or grandparents as a link. No app or account needed to read it, and you can switch any link off.
Key contacts in one place
The neurologist, epilepsy nurse, GP, pharmacy and school, a tap away. Choose who appears on the action plan.
A look inside the app
Illustrative screens with made-up details. The app is still being built, so they may change.
Cushion the head, turn onto the side, nothing in the mouth.
Last 12 weeks. Dashed line: dose change.
Or if one seizure follows another, they're injured, or they have trouble breathing.
Goes quiet and stares, then the right arm jerks. Usually about 2 minutes.
Written by Sam's family based on advice from their medical team. In an emergency call 999.
Who it's for
Parents and carers
Families looking after a child with epilepsy. Two carers share one family, each on their own Android phone, and both see the same medicines, doses and seizures. Sign in with your Google account.
School, grandparents and childminders
They don't need the app. You send them a link to the seizure action plan, which opens in any web browser. It shows the plan and nothing else: no seizure history, videos or medicine records. Each link has a name, like “School”, and you can switch it off at any time.
Your family's data, kept private
This is health information about your child, so we treat it with extra care.
Stored in London
Your family’s data is kept on servers in the UK.
Private videos
Only you and the other parent can watch them, through links that expire after 10 minutes.
No ads, no selling
No advertising, no tracking tools, and your data is never sold or shared for marketing.
Delete any time
Export everything, or delete your account and all your family’s data from inside the app.
It records, reminds and shares
It never suggests doses, diagnoses or predicts seizures, and it doesn't replace the care plan from your child's medical team.
In an emergency, always call 999.
